Product Description
STEINEL RS M1 S is an LED wall and ceiling light with a concealed motion sensor and warm white light for dry indoor areas. The compact 200 × 200 mm fitting combines rounded corners with a small stainless-steel detail at its centre. It suits stairways, entrance halls and corridors, where the opal white cover and restrained metal accent work with both light and darker wall finishes.
Warm light with an ambient glow
The 8.8 W LED system delivers 759 lm of 3000 K warm white light. Its opal plastic cover diffuses the light, while the glow around the fitting adds depth to the wall or ceiling. The colour temperature is fixed. A 200 × 200 mm face and 53 mm depth make it a practical choice for locations where a pendant light would take up too much space.
Light that responds to movement
An integrated 360° high-frequency sensor sits behind the cover, leaving the front free of a protruding sensor lens. When ceiling-mounted, the detection area adjusts to approximately 3–8 m in diameter. HF sensing can also detect movement through glass, doors and thin partitions, so sensitivity should be matched to the room layout. Built-in dials let you choose how long the light stays on and the ambient brightness below which movement activates it.
Night lighting and extended illumination
Selectable 10% basic lighting provides a low level of orientation light after dark. Movement brings the light to full brightness for the selected period. If a wall switch is fitted in the supply lead, it can activate the four-hour manual override; the fitting then returns automatically to sensor operation. Time, reach, twilight threshold and night lighting are set using controls on the fitting itself.
The luminaire is intended for surface mounting in dry indoor areas and connection to a 220–240 V mains supply. Both concealed and surface-mounted cable routes are supported. The integrated LED light source and control gear are not replaceable; an external mains dimmer is not supported.
